Hello
everyone
Our
ferry crossing from Calais to Dover was uneventful, except for the van being
searched by both men and sniffer dogs due to the heightened security alerts.
After a busy few days in London, we headed northwards for the last couple of
hundred miles on our journey home. Having encountered most weather on our trip,
the only place where snow actually fell on us was in the Peak District!
On mainland
Europe, we’ve visited the most northerly point (Nordkapp), the most southerly
(Punta Tarifa), and the most westerly (Cabo da Roca). There’s debate about
where the most easterly point is, but we got as far as Istanbul. We’ve got a
long list of places to return to for further exploration, but there are a
couple of places where the one visit was enough!! We’ve even managed to
underspend slightly on our planned budget of £50 per day.
The
van has been a sturdy and reliable companion coping with some truly terrible
roads, but amazingly has only suffered a cracked windscreen, a loose fanbelt
and a flat battery – not bad for so many miles, and a well-overdue service is
booked.
And we treat ourselves to a tasty beer/cider (or two!)

Writing
this blog has been great fun, capturing our travels and photo highlights, and
it’ll be strange not doing it. However, ‘p+c motorhome adventure’ doesn’t stop
here, and you may just find us blogging part 2 in the not too distant future.
For those of you who've followed us, we hope you enjoyed the ride.
The 43 weeks have flown by. Your blog has been a fantastic weekly read. Looking forward to part 2 already!
